Suffolk County Council employs Gary Battell as Woodland Advisor; he has 37 years forestry experience and 13 years experience within the biomass industry.  Gary worked with others to set up Anglia Woodfuels Ltd.  Eastern Woodfuels, a new Suffolk business was set-up by Sarah Brown and her family at Bentwaters Parks to supply Suffolk County Council with woodfuel.  Gary Battell advises them on the wood supply chain, chipping, storage and woodfuel quality. 

 

Suffolk County Council has offered advice to numerous Local Authorities across the UK, private individuals, businesses and charities, the South Korean and Isle of Man Governments.

Gary is a Director and Vice Chairperson of the national Small Woods Association, and director of Heartwoods, he sits on the Executive and Steering committees of Woodfuel East and is a Steering Group and Partnership member of the national England Woodland and Timber Partnership (EWTP) and Confor (Confederation of Forest Industries - Eastern region).  Gary created the Woodfuel Wizard and he is currently producing a Biomass Education Resource Pack that promotes careers for young people in the forestry and biomass industry.
