Career History

1984 - present

Mixed farming 1200 acres in Oxfordshire; dairy, beef and arable as tenant to National Trust and owner occupier.

Since 1995, majority of land farmed organically

 

1992 started work for planning for a wind farm, consent eventually granted in 2004; set up co-op to raise £5 million equity for community owned wind farm; 2008 commissioned  6.5 MW community owned wind farm (2500 owners).

 

2009 set up Farm Carbon Cutting Toolkit a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to raise the importance of climate change in the industry and support farmers wishing to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from their farms.

 

2011 built 5MW solar farm and am currently seeking to make it community owned.
